Nadia and Carol
Nadia Comaneci (Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej Now Onesti) Romanian Gymnast born on November 12, 1961. She was the first Romanian to be awarded a score of 10 at the Olympic contest. Bela Karrolyi is the Romanian gymnastics instructor, who later became the coach for Comaneci, first discovered Comaneci when she was just six years old. Comaneci participated for the first time in the national junior championships and finished 13th. The following year she became champion. The first time she competed in an international competition in a preolympics junior competition for countries in the Communist bloc, she took home three gold medals. In 1973 and 1975, she won awarded the All-around Junior Champion. She took home four gold medals and one silver in her debut competition as a senior, held in 1975. This was her first time she participated as an older senior. She took home the American Cup in New York City in 1976 becoming the first female to do a reverse double salto, which is an unmounting from uneven parallel bars. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. Her career in the entertainment business began during her teens when she started doing figure skating along with her twin sister Nina Wayne as part of the touring entertainment show called Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne, born in Chicago Illinois US on 6 September 1942. Carol's professional career started in the entertainment industry during her teenage year. At the age of a girl she started her career as a figure skating performer with Nina Wayne in the travelling show of entertainment Ice Capades. These shows were ice skating events that included theatrical performances.
